Technically, The Dead Girls’ Dance is considered a young adult novel. But don’t let that put you off. Rachel Caine knows how to tell a good story and she creates wonderful characters. If you’re a fan of either of those concepts (and you don’t mind vampires) give her Morganville Vampire series a shot. (In case you were wondering, Glass Houses is the first book, and the library owns copies of both.)

Throw in the re-emergence of a brother Eve doesn’t want to admit she has, a war brewing between the two most terrifying vampires in the world, and a b****in’ horror-themed party with bite, and Claire’s life is about to get very interesting.

I’ve read both novels, and I haven’t been able to put either of them down. But if the young adult thing is throwing you, give Caine’s adult novels, The Weather Warden series, a try. Those are excellent as well.
