Friends of the Peabody Institute Library
The Friends of the Peabody Institute Library is a non-profit, volunteer organization dedicated to enriching the community’s cultural and educational life and enhancing the activities of our library.
The Friends sponsor the following:
- Museum passes to 15 different institutions
- Concerts and musical programs for children and adults
- Various in-person and Zoom lectures
- Community-based events
- Library initiatives and improvements
These are a few of offerings from the Friends in the past year:
- Annual book sale (Members can shop early at a preview night!)
- A performance and talk on the Harlem Renaissance
- Various in-person and Zoom lectures, including a glimpse into the Academy Awards
- A family-friendly Holiday Open House
- Drummers from Brazil

We welcome anyone interested in the workings and the welfare of the library to attend and learn about what we do. Our next meeting will be held on Wednesday, November 20 at 10:30 AM in the lower-level classroom.

Join us for a special event sponsored by the Friends!
Meet the “Mean Girls”: A Musical Showcase and Talk
Thursday, November 14, 6:30 – 7:30 PM
Gordon Room, Peabody Institute Library of Danvers
15 Sylvan Street, Danvers
Danvers High School’s Academy Theatre Society will perform selections from their upcoming musical, Mean Girls, and clinical staff from The Nan Project will provide valuable guidance for kids and parents alike on bullying and navigating the “Mean Girls” in their world.
This program is supported in part by a grant from the Danvers Cultural Council, a local agency supported by the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency.
