January 27th marks the anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau. In 2005, the United Nations declared the 27th of January to be International Holocaust Remembrance Day in honor of this anniversary.
To commemorate this day, the UN urges us to honor the six million Jewish victims of the Holocaust and millions of other victims of Nazism and to develop educational programs to help prevent future genocides. To honor the stories of the Jewish and other victims of the Holocaust and Nazism, we have developed this list of non-fiction and fiction reads for all ages.
