This cautious guidance left Mika safe, but isolated from anyone who could truly understand her. Her lonely childhood led to an adulthood of constantly moving, never staying in a home or neighborhood long enough to form connections or friendships.

When Mika is invited to travel to the Nowhere House to teach three young witches how to manage their magic, she goes against her instinct and agrees to try it out. Mika finds herself growing close to the inhabitants of the Nowhere House, and experiences a sense of belonging for the first time that she can remember. Of course there is a twist, right when the story hits the maximum level of cozy, sweet enchantment. The twist itself brings a surprise, and it brings the book to the perfect ending.
