Join the Summer Reading Programs for All Ages at the Library!
July 1st – August 15th
Little Kids
Ages 2 – 4
Come to the Library to pick up your Summer Reading Game Sheet between July 1st – 15th. Children will be given a Summer Reading Game sheet. As they do each activity, mark it off. As you work your way through the Game Sheet (even if every activity is not yet done), bring it to the Library once a week to get it stamped. Kids who come weekly will get to choose a treasure from the Treasure Chest and fill out a raffle ticket for a chance to win a bigger prize. It’s OK if you can’t come every week — just bring it back when you can. Prizes will be drawn at the end of the Summer Reading Challenge. Kids can fill out a total of 5 Game Sheets by August 15th to earn a puppet. Plus, check out our awesome free events here!
Older Kids
Ages 5 – Entering Grade 5
Come to the Library to pick up your Summer Reading Log between July 1st – 15th. Set a weekly reading goal for yourself — make it a fun challenge! For example, if you would like to read for 20 minutes per day, that’s 140 minutes per week. Maybe you want to read even more than that! You can read anything you’d like, anywhere, anytime. Reading aloud to a sibling counts for both kids! Keep track of your reading on the Summer Reading Challenge Log. Bring the log with you to the Children’s Room each week to choose a prize from the Treasure Chest and fill out a raffle ticket for a chance to win a big prize. If you read for at least 15 hours during the Summer Reading Challenge, you’ll earn a Topsfield Fair Prize Pack! Just be sure to bring your Summer Reading Challenge Log to the Children’s Room by August 15th to show the Librarian. Plus, check out our awesome free events here!
Teens & Adults
TEENS: Teens entering Grade 6 – age 18 are welcome to play a Summer Reading BINGO game. BINGO sheets are available at the library or online on the Teens’ Page. Adults can enter raffles by filling out a ticket on the First Floor. All reading counts: e-books, newspaper articles, magazines, audiobooks, etc. All are welcome to read whatever, whenever and wherever they want and most of all — have fun!
ADULTS: Adults ages 18 + can enter to win one of TWO raffle baskets simply for reading this summer! Just fill out the entry form with your name, phone number and title of the book you have read (or are reading) and put the slip in the box for the basket you’d like to win! Winners will be chosen after August 15th.
