Tax Information at the Peabody Institute Library
Forms ~ Electronic Filing ~ Tax Help
Forms are available on a first come, self-service basis while supplies last.
They are located in the newspaper room on the first floor.
Please inquire at a service desk regarding Federal Reproducible Forms.
NOTE: The Massachusetts Department of Revenue has severely curtailed their
re-supply of print forms to public venues. Supplies are limited.
"Can the library tell me if they have a particular tax form?"
While we can't check for specific forms, the library typically receives multiple copies of those most commonly requested forms and tax publications.
"You don't have the form I need. What should I do?"
Try the IRS or the Mass Dept. of Revenue web sites. Many forms are available online. If you are unsure how to proceed, ask a Librarian-we're happy to help!
Electronic Filing
The library does not provide software for filing taxes electronically.
For those who qualify, the IRS site provides FREE FILE, an online tax preparation and electronic filing program through a partnership agreement
with the IRS and the Free File Alliance.
NOTE: Not everyone will qualify for Free File and services are provided by commercial companies, not the IRS.
